# How to download a LinkedIn video (iPhone, Android, desktop)

Steps for iPhone, Android and desktop, a free downloader built into the page, and what to do with private or embedded videos.

## TL;DR

- LinkedIn has no download button, but you can save any public LinkedIn video as an MP4 in a few seconds: tap the three dots on the post, choose **Copy link to post**, paste the link into the free downloader below and download. It runs in your browser on iPhone, Android and desktop, with no app and no account.

## Download a LinkedIn video now

Paste the link to any public LinkedIn post that contains a video. You'll get a preview and the available qualities, highest first. Pick one and the MP4 downloads to your device.

> **Free tool:** [LinkedIn Video Downloader](https://myfeedin.co/free-tools/linkedin-video-downloader). Enter the URL of a LinkedIn post containing a video to download it

Not sure where to find the link? The next section shows where it is on every device.

## How to copy the link to a LinkedIn post

1. Find the post with the video in your feed or on the creator's profile.
2. Click or tap the **three dots (...)** in the top right corner of the post.
3. Choose **Copy link to post**.

On desktop, if the post is already open on its own page, you can also copy the URL from the address bar.

Check that the video plays inside LinkedIn itself. If the post shows a YouTube or Vimeo player, the video is hosted on that platform, not on LinkedIn, and you'll need to save it from there.

## How to download a LinkedIn video on iPhone

1. In the LinkedIn app, tap the three dots on the post, then **Copy link to post**.
2. Open this page in Safari or Chrome and paste the link into the downloader above.
3. Tap **Get Video**, pick a quality and download.
4. iOS saves the MP4 in the **Files** app, under Downloads. To add it to your Photos, open the file, tap the share icon and choose **Save Video**.

## How to download a LinkedIn video on Android

1. In the LinkedIn app, tap the three dots on the post, then **Copy link to post**.
2. Open this page in Chrome, paste the link into the downloader and tap **Get Video**.
3. Pick a quality and download.

The MP4 lands in your **Downloads** folder, and your gallery or video player picks it up from there.

## How to download a LinkedIn video on desktop

On a Mac, Windows PC or Chromebook:

1. Copy the post link from the three dots menu or from the address bar.
2. Paste it into the downloader and click **Get Video**.
3. Watch the preview to make sure it's the right video, then download the quality you want.

The file goes to your browser's download folder as a standard MP4, ready to play or to drop into a video editor.

## Which LinkedIn videos can you download?

**Public posts with a native video.** Anything a logged-out visitor can watch on LinkedIn, from creators, companies or your own profile.

**Your own videos.** Paste the link to your post like any other. LinkedIn's data export (**Me > Settings & Privacy > Data privacy > Download your data**) only lists the media you shared as links in its Rich Media file, and it isn't available on mobile, so the downloader is the faster way to get the actual file back.

**Posts with limited visibility.** Videos shared with connections only, in a private group or in messages stay behind LinkedIn's login, so an online downloader can't access them. Ask the creator for the file instead.

**LinkedIn Learning courses.** These download inside the LinkedIn Learning mobile app for offline viewing, with an active subscription or a purchased course. Tap the download icon under the course title, then find it under **My Courses > Downloaded**.

## What video quality do you get?

You get the versions LinkedIn itself streams for that post, usually a few qualities listed by bitrate, with the highest one first. The best one is the version LinkedIn kept after compressing the creator's upload, which is the same quality you see when you watch the post on LinkedIn.

For your own videos, keep the original file from your camera or editor too: it's always sharper than any copy saved from a social platform.

## Is it legal to download LinkedIn videos?

Saving a video to watch it later is how most people use a downloader. What matters is what you do with the file next.

LinkedIn's User Agreement says members own the content they post, and it asks you not to copy or distribute other people's posts without their permission, outside LinkedIn's own sharing features. It also rules out copying or sharing LinkedIn Learning videos.

In practice:

- **Personal use**, like watching a talk offline or keeping a video as your own reference, is the common case.
- **Reposting or reusing someone's video** in your own content needs the creator's permission. Ask them, credit them, and link to the original post.
- **Your own videos** are yours to download and reuse however you like.

This isn't legal advice. If you plan a commercial use, check with the creator and your own legal counsel.

## Why won't a LinkedIn video download?

Most failed downloads come from one of these:

1. **The post isn't public.** Connections-only, group and message videos need a logged-in account to view.
2. **The video is a YouTube or Vimeo embed.** Save it from that platform.
3. **The link isn't the post link.** Use **Copy link to post** from the three dots menu rather than a link to a profile, a comment or the feed.
4. **The post was deleted.** Once a post is removed, its video is gone from LinkedIn.

If the video plays for you on LinkedIn but still won't download, screen recording works on every device: Control Center on iPhone, Quick Settings on Android, **Cmd+Shift+5** on Mac and the Xbox Game Bar (**Win+G**) on Windows. The quality matches your screen rather than the original file, so keep it as a backup option.

## Keep the creators, not only their videos

Most people save LinkedIn videos as inspiration: a talk worth rewatching, a format worth copying, a creator worth learning from. A folder of downloads is easy to forget, though.

To keep up with those creators, add them to a [custom feed in MyFeedIn](https://myfeedin.co/features/linkedin-creator-feeds) and see every new post from the people you learn from in one place, newest first. Download the videos you want to keep, and follow the source for everything else.

Need other formats? The same approach works with our free [LinkedIn image downloader](https://myfeedin.co/free-tools/linkedin-image-downloader) and [LinkedIn carousel downloader](https://myfeedin.co/free-tools/linkedin-carousel-downloader), and the video tool also has its [own page](https://myfeedin.co/free-tools/linkedin-video-downloader).

## FAQ

### Can I download LinkedIn videos without an account?

Yes. The downloader only needs the link to a public post, so you don't need to be logged in to LinkedIn or to sign up for anything. You do need the link, which you can copy from the LinkedIn app or website.

### Do I need LinkedIn Premium to download a video?

No. Premium doesn't add a download button either. Any LinkedIn account, or no account at all, can save a public video with the downloader.

### Can I download a private LinkedIn video?

Only videos that anyone can see. Posts shared with connections only, in a private group or in messages aren't visible to a logged-out visitor, so the downloader can't reach them. For those, ask the creator for the file.

### Does the creator know I downloaded their video?

No. LinkedIn doesn't send any notification when a video is saved. If you plan to reuse the video anywhere, ask the creator first and credit them.

### What format are downloaded LinkedIn videos in?

MP4, in the qualities LinkedIn serves for that post, highest first. MP4 plays on every phone and computer and imports into any video editor.

### Can I download LinkedIn Learning videos?

Yes, for offline viewing inside the LinkedIn Learning mobile app, with an active subscription or a course you bought: tap the download icon under the course title. Offline viewing isn't available on desktop, and LinkedIn's User Agreement doesn't allow copying or sharing Learning videos outside the app.

### How do I get back a video I posted myself?

If the post is public, paste its link into the downloader like any other post. LinkedIn's data export lists the photos and videos you shared as links in its Rich Media file, not as video files, so the downloader is the quickest way to get the MP4 back.
