How to use the LinkedIn profile viewer
- Copy the profile URL. It looks like
linkedin.com/in/username. You can copy it from a Google result, an email signature or a message; country versions likefr.linkedin.com/in/...work too. - Paste it in the box and click View profile.
- Read the profile. You get the public sections in a few seconds. Open on LinkedIn takes you to the real profile if you decide you want to connect.

The viewer only shows what the person made public. Members can hide their public profile, or parts of it, in their LinkedIn settings, and those parts stay hidden here too.
Other ways to view a LinkedIn profile anonymously
1. Use LinkedIn's private mode. If you have an account, go to Settings & Privacy > Visibility > Profile viewing options and pick Private mode. Your visits then show as an anonymous LinkedIn Member. The catch: on a free account, turning it on also hides your own list of profile viewers (LinkedIn Help).
2. Search Google while signed out. Search site:linkedin.com/in "first name last name" and open the result in a private window. You'll see the public profile, but LinkedIn often cuts it short and asks you to sign in.
3. Use a profile viewer like this one. No account, no settings to change, and the full public profile in one page.

Is it safe to use a LinkedIn profile viewer?
You don't give the viewer your LinkedIn login, and nothing is installed, so it can't touch your account. It reads the same public information anyone can see on LinkedIn's public profile pages, and never shows contact details.
Use it the way you'd use a search engine: to prepare for a call, check a recruiter, read up on an interviewer or research a lead. Don't use it to follow someone who blocked you or to harass anyone.

Yes. You can look up 5 new profiles a day for free, with no account. A profile someone looked up recently loads instantly and doesn't count toward your 5.
No. You never open LinkedIn and the lookup isn't made from your LinkedIn account, so your name can't appear in their Who's viewed your profile list.
The public sections of the profile: name, photo, headline, location, follower count, About, experience, education, websites, top skills and badges like Open to work or Hiring. Contact details, emails, phone numbers and posts are never shown.

Private mode also hides your name, but it needs a LinkedIn account, and on a free account turning it on hides your own list of profile viewers. The viewer needs no account at all and changes nothing in your settings.
